Shop Manager & Committee Member

Kevin Boddy

Kevin is the shop manager and grew up in Crediton. He has lived in Lapford for the last 18 years, so he understands and appreciates village life. He was a Lapford parish councillor for a year where he had the role of treasurer.

Kevin left QE school and worked for thirty-one years for the Post Office and Royal Mail. His last role for the company was a Postman delivering to East village, Poughill, Upham and Stockleigh English. He worked for Edwin Tuckers in Crediton for 4 years prior to taking up his current shop manager role.

Kevin has worked in the shop since it first opened and enjoys working with the volunteers and meeting and helping the shop customers.

Kevin maintains the shop Risk Assessment, Food Hygiene regulations, Health & Safety regulations and general day to day administration tasks. He also undertakes training for new volunteers and is the shop first -aider and fire marshal. He brings his shop experiences and skills to the committee.

Kevin is a fan of multiple sports including football and road cycling. He used to play lawn bowls for Crediton also playing in the Crediton skittle league for many years. He enjoys maintaining his garden. Kevin has a wife and two grown-up children who both still live at home. His wife grew up in Cheriton Fitzpaine and went to the old primary school. She was also once a village carnival queen.
